It is easy to become a Sponsor to Gateway Sports Cars. You just have to provide our members with a 10% discount and we will add you to the list. It's a win, win for both of us.

We are a real club and not just an online group. To help our Sponsors differentiate our online friends from our Club members, we will have a participation based membership vs a paid one. So it's free to join, but to get a membership card and number you have to show up to 5 events a year. It can be any event the Club promotes where you are representing Gateway Sports Cars, even non Club events that we promote. Just provide pictures that you were there with our logo on your car. All first and second year members from 2007-2009 just have to ask for a number, you are automatically lifetime members and we love you for helping us get started! Very soon, we will have monthly meets, just have to figure out a central location that will have us.

I am on the lookout for feature cars. This is the one part of the online magazine that is the most difficult to obtain. If you read Ryan's in the current issue all he had to do was get me some pictures of his car and list his mods. That's not to say I won't have questions but I will try to make it super easy for you.

Even though the forum is now dead for all practical purposes, if you are on Facebook please join us there at our Facebook page. I am living down in Sarasota Florida for those who did not know, so Tony is heading things up now. We are trying to find a meeting spot so we (the Club) can hang out again. With winter coming to an end for you guys, there will be some drives set up sooner than later. They will be posted up on the revamped website www.GatewaySportsCars.com on the main page blog and on the Facebook page posted above. I am personally still very active on the Facebook page and with somebodies help, will put together at least one drive, even from down here, probably more though. If you have any questions at all please feel free to email me personally at RalphLongo1975@gmail.com. I am in the slow process of starting a sister Club down here called Sarasota Sports Cars. The very unfinished website is at www.SarasotaSportsCars.com. Maybe, one day we can all meet up somewhere in the middle and do a drive a of some sort *cough*cough*Tail Of The Dragon*cough*-- I must have something in my throat lol.

On a personal level, I wanted all of you to know how much I have enjoyed meeting everyone who gets this email. Where as I do not miss the crappy weather up there, I do honestly miss the people very much. I will very much look forward to seeing you at a future meeting when I travel up north for family reasons.

We have added a link to our member photographs on Facebook and dropped the old page here on our main site. At some point all of the pictures that were here will be added to the Facebook page.

Club guidelines Added

Tony has posted some rules of conduct on our Facebook page as it relates to the Club. We have also added it here and it can also be seen by hovering on our About Us section.

I would like to take a moment of you guys/gals time who are members in this group.

For the first time since we started (that I know of) we had someone who was hateful towards another member. Even worse he really got nasty off line in a private message. Which shows his maturity and how much of a “man” he really was.

So, I want to start “Guideline” of what this Group believes in and will/will not tolerate. I would hate to call them Rules because those can be broken. Ralph can help me with this one.

GATEWAY SPORTS CARS GROUP GUIDELINE:

1. We will not tolerate members who are: Sexist, Racist, or LGBT-ist.
2. We will not tolerate “Hateful” comments that are directed to a specific person.
(This is not the place for it. Take it to the playground.)
3. We will tolerate all opinions.
4. We will talk about most any topics but will end if Admin deems that it is
going “to far down the rabbit hole”
5. We will allow anyone into the Group as long as they follow the Guideline.
6. We will have fun. *if you can’t you need to leave

I know its short list but its a work in progress and I don’t want to get political. Again I don't claim to be perfect and I might even say something thats very opinionated. Just the way I am. I will try not to have anything directed at any single person. I may also make fun of a certain car. But I will try not to be hateful towards your car specifically. Hell I have no room to talk. I drive and have driven POS cars but dammit they were my paid for POS cars. You should also be proud to have the car you have without someone being hateful towards you. Let me reiterate this is a "Mature" group. Meaning are more mature socially and will not put up with the "Immature" crap that goes on in other groups. I hope that will keep the mature members that we have and we will continue to "Enjoy all that is to Enjoy about owning a car"

From the Gateway Z Club: Branson Z Fest 2014, I know many of you have to schedule your vacations months in advance. The "unofficially official" dates, per a post made in the Branson Z Fest Facebook page, will be held the weekend of Friday May 29, Saturday May 30, and Sunday, June 1. If you are new to BZF, many folks begin arriving early in the week and spend the days either enjoying the shopping and/or shows in Branson or just hangin' with fellow ZedHeads. Personally, I spend the days driving the GREAT roads found that way. If you can't get away from work, a lot of people come down Friday. Nothing is mandatory. Participate in Fridays drag racing or Saturday's car show....or not! It's up to you!!
